Translation Transliteration — Yunus

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَٰكِنَّ النَّاسَ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ۝٤٤

Innal laaha laa yazlimun naasa shai`anw wa laakin nannaasa anfusahum yazlimoon

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

لَا يَظْلِمُ (does not wrong): He does not diminish rights, increase sins, or decrease rewards unjustly.
يَظْلِمُونَ (they wrong): They bring harm upon themselves through their own choices and actions.

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, the Exalted, is absolutely free from any form of injustice. He does not wrong people in the slightest—not even by the weight of a speck of dust. He does not add to their sins without cause, nor does He reduce their good deeds without justification. Rather, His actions are always characterized by perfect justice and boundless favor.

However, people wrong themselves. They are the ones who, through their own stubbornness, arrogance, and blind adherence to falsehood, lead themselves to destruction. By choosing disbelief, disobedience, and transgression against Allah's commands, they bring harm upon their own souls. They follow their desires instead of the truth, and they persist in error despite clear guidance.

This verse serves as a profound reminder that every hardship or consequence a person faces in this life or the Hereafter is a direct result of their own choices. Allah never oppresses anyone; rather, it is the soul that oppresses itself when it turns away from its Creator and violates His boundaries.

Da'wah Reflection:

What a beautiful and reassuring truth this is! Our Lord is completely just and never wrongs anyone. Every good deed is preserved, and every sin is accounted for with perfect fairness. So do not ever feel that Allah has been unjust to you—rather, look within and examine your own choices. The door of repentance is always open, and the mercy of Allah is vast. If you have wronged yourself through sin, know that returning to Allah with a sincere heart erases the past and opens a new chapter of light. Embrace the justice of Allah, and let it inspire you to treat yourself with fairness by choosing obedience and righteousness. For in doing so, you are not doing Allah any favor—you are saving your own soul from harm and securing for yourself a reward beyond imagination.

📜 Verse 42-46 — Yunus

42وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَ ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear, although they will not use reason?

43وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنظُرُ إِلَيْكَ ۚ أَفَأَنتَ تَهْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see?

44إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا وَلَٰكِنَّ النَّاسَ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

Indeed, Allah does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves.

45وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّنَ النَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانُوا مُهْتَدِينَ

And on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided

46وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ

And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muhammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allah is a witness concerning what they are doing
