Explanation of the Verse:
O Prophet, and by extension every believer who follows this path, remain patient and steadfast upon what you have been commanded—upon the prayer, upon the path of truth, and upon enduring the harm and hostility that comes from those who oppose you. Do not let hardship or rejection shake your resolve, and do not be swayed by the temptations of this world or the pressure of the wrongdoers. Be patient in performing what Allah has obligated, and be patient in refraining from what He has forbidden, and be patient in facing the trials that befall you.
For indeed, Allah—the Most Just, the Most Generous—does not let the reward of the doers of good go to waste. Every act of excellence, every ounce of sincere effort, every moment of patience in the face of difficulty is recorded and preserved with Him. He does not overlook a single good deed, nor does He diminish the recompense of those who perfect their actions with sincerity, seeking His pleasure alone. Rather, He accepts their best deeds and grants them a reward far greater than what they have earned, out of His abundant mercy and bounty.
So take comfort in this promise, and let it strengthen your heart. The road of righteousness may be long and filled with trials, but the One who watches over your efforts is the One who never breaks His promise. He sees your striving, He knows your struggles, and He will reward you in ways you cannot imagine.
A Da'wah Reflection:
This verse is a divine balm for every weary heart. It reminds us that no act of goodness—no matter how small or unseen by people—is ever lost in the sight of Allah. When you feel tired of doing good, when you feel that your efforts are unappreciated, when the world seems to reward the wrongdoers and ignore the righteous, remember: Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good. He is the All-Seeing, the All-Knowing, and His scale is perfectly just. So hold on to patience, for it is the key to victory, and let your hope be in Him alone. The reward of this world may be fleeting, but the reward of the Hereafter is everlasting. And what a beautiful reward it is for those who beautify their deeds with sincerity and excellence!
