Surah Maryam — Verse 25

She was instructed to shake the trunk of a palm tree toward herself, and in response, fresh, ripe dates would fall upon her.

The command to shake the tree was not a test of her strength — for she was in the throes of labor — but rather a divine lesson in the balance between reliance on Allah (tawakkul) and taking practical means (asbāb). The palm tree, though dry and seemingly barren in the desert, was made to yield its best fruit at that very moment. The dates were described as "janiyyan," meaning freshly gathered, soft, and ready to eat — a perfect nourishment for a woman in her condition, providing energy, hydration, and comfort.
