Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- نُورِثُ – We bequeath/give as an inheritance.
- تَقِيًّا – One who is God-conscious, righteous, and mindful of Allah by obeying His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse refers to the magnificent Paradise described earlier in Surah Maryam—a garden of eternal bliss, with rivers flowing beneath it, and provisions that never end. Allah, the Most Generous, declares that this Paradise is not something earned by mere wishful thinking or empty claims; rather, it is a gift that He "bequeaths" to His servants who possess *taqwa* (God-consciousness).
The use of the word "inherit" (نُورِثُ) is profound—it suggests that Paradise is a legacy prepared for the righteous, just as an inheritance is passed on to those who are entitled to it. Yet, this inheritance is not based on lineage or wealth, but on faith and righteous deeds. It is granted purely out of Allah’s mercy and grace to those who sincerely strive to please Him.
The condition is clear: *"whoever was God-conscious"*—meaning those who consistently fulfill Allah’s commands, such as prayer, charity, and honesty, and who diligently avoid His prohibitions, such as sin, oppression, and disobedience. This is not about perfection, but about sincere effort and steadfastness on the path of righteousness, seeking Allah’s pleasure above all else.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Dear believer, this verse fills the heart with hope and motivation! Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, has prepared a Paradise so vast that the heavens and the earth cannot contain its beauty, and He offers it to you as an inheritance—not because you deserve it by your deeds alone, but because His mercy is immense. All He asks is that you live with *taqwa*: be mindful of Him in every moment, in your words, your actions, and your intentions.
Imagine the joy of that eternal home where there is no pain, no sorrow, no fatigue—only peace, joy, and the pleasure of Allah. This is not a distant dream; it is a reality within your reach. Every prayer you offer, every sin you avoid, every good deed you do for the sake of Allah brings you closer to this inheritance. So, strive today, for tomorrow’s reward is beyond imagination. Let your heart yearn for that garden, and let your limbs work for it now. Allah has promised, and His promise is true—Paradise awaits the God-conscious!
