Surah Taha — Verse 114

The Tafsir (Explanation):

This noble verse elevates the believer's heart toward the majesty of Allah, declaring Him far exalted above every imperfection, weakness, or false description. He is the Sovereign King whose authority overrides all earthly power, and He is the Truth itself—His promise is true, His warning is true, His words are true, and everything that comes from Him is true. He is utterly free from what the polytheists claim about Him, and His dominion cannot be challenged by any tyrant or force.

The verse then turns to address the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with a gentle yet profound instruction: do not rush to recite the Qur'an before the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) has completed conveying the revelation to you. This was a moment of deep love and eagerness—the Prophet ﷺ would hasten to repeat the words as they were being revealed, out of his intense desire to memorize and preserve them perfectly. Allah, in His mercy, taught him to wait patiently until the revelation was fully delivered, and then to recite it with calmness and certainty.

Finally, the verse concludes with a supplication that carries immense value for every believer: "My Lord, increase me in knowledge." This is not merely a request for more information—it is a humble plea for deeper understanding, greater wisdom, and the ability to grasp the meanings of the Qur'an and the religion with clarity and insight.
