Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ (And We aided them): We granted them victory and support against their enemy.
- فَكَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ (So they were the victorious ones): They became the triumphant party, overcoming those who opposed them.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this noble verse, Allah recounts His favour upon Prophet Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), along with the Children of Israel. Allah declares that He granted them His divine support and assistance against Pharaoh and his mighty army. Despite the overwhelming power and resources of Pharaoh's regime, Allah's will prevailed, and the believers emerged victorious. The phrase "they were the victorious ones" emphasises that the final outcome belonged to them—not through their own strength or strategy, but through Allah's decree and intervention. This victory was not merely military; it was a triumph of faith over tyranny, of truth over falsehood, and of patience over arrogance. The verse serves as a powerful reminder that when Allah aids His righteous servants, no force on earth can stand against them, and the seemingly impossible becomes possible.
Reflection and Call to Faith:
Dear believer, ponder deeply on this verse and let it fill your heart with hope and certainty. The same Allah who granted victory to Musa and his people over the mightiest tyrant of his time is alive today, hearing your prayers and seeing your struggles. When you face hardships, oppression, or seemingly insurmountable challenges, remember that Allah's support is not limited by circumstances. He is the Lord of all causes and effects, and He can turn the tables in an instant. This verse invites you to strengthen your trust in Allah, to remain patient and steadfast in your faith, and to know that the ultimate victory belongs to the believers—whether in this world or in the Hereafter. Let this divine promise be a source of comfort and motivation in your daily life, and strive to be among those whom Allah aids by upholding His commands and following the path of His Messenger ﷺ. For indeed, Allah never abandons those who sincerely rely upon Him.
