- "وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ" – "And we are not to be punished": We will not suffer any punishment or torment after entering Paradise.
Explanation of the Verse:
In this blessed verse, Allah narrates to us the joyful words of the people of Paradise as they revel in their eternal bliss. They say: "We will never die again except for the first death we already tasted in the worldly life, and we will never be subjected to any punishment."
This is a statement of sheer delight and gratitude. The believers, having entered Paradise, realize with overwhelming joy that their death in the world was the only death they would ever experience. There is no second death, no grave torment, no reckoning to fear, and no punishment whatsoever. They are now in a state of everlasting security and pleasure, far removed from any form of suffering.
The verse captures a moment of celebration among the dwellers of Paradise. They look at one another, confirming this great truth: the hardships of the worldly life, the trials, and even death itself—all of that is now behind them. What lies ahead is only eternal happiness, endless rewards, and the pleasure of their Lord. This is the ultimate triumph, the true success that every soul yearns for.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, imagine this scene: you are among those blessed souls, looking back at your life on earth and realizing that all your struggles, your patience in worship, and your perseverance in faith have led you to this moment of absolute peace. You will never die again, and you will never be punished. What greater joy could there be?
This verse is a beautiful reminder that the hardships of this world are temporary, but the rewards of the Hereafter are eternal. If you strive now to obey Allah, to seek His forgiveness, and to follow the guidance of His Messenger ﷺ, then this very scene can be your reality. Do not let the fleeting pleasures of this world deceive you, for they will end, while the bliss of Paradise never ends.
Let this verse fill your heart with hope and motivate you to increase your good deeds. The door of repentance is always open, and Allah’s mercy is vast. Turn to Him today, and you may be among those who will say, with smiles of eternal joy: "We will never die again, and we will never be punished!"
