- Mudill (مُضِلّ): One who leads astray — anyone who attempts to deviate a person from the right path.
- Aziz (عَزِيز): Almighty, Mighty, Dominant over all things — the One whose will cannot be opposed.
- Dhi intiqam (ذِي انتِقَام): Possessor of vengeance — the One who punishes those who disbelieve in Him and disobey His commands.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse comes as a powerful reassurance and a stern warning in one breath. Allah Almighty says: *"And whoever Allah guides, none can lead him astray."*
When Allah chooses to guide a servant — opening their heart to faith, granting them the ability to act upon His Book, and follow His Messenger — no force in the heavens or the earth can overturn that divine decree. No devil, no tyrant, no whisperer can snatch that person away from the truth. This is because Allah’s guidance is absolute and His protection is complete. Just as no one can guide a person whom Allah has left astray, equally no one can misguide a person whom Allah has chosen to guide. His will is supreme and nothing can oppose it.
Then Allah poses a rhetorical question: *"Is not Allah Mighty, Possessor of vengeance?"* The answer is an emphatic "Yes, indeed!" He is the Almighty whose power dominates all, and He is the One who takes vengeance upon the disbelievers and those who transgress His limits. This question serves two purposes: it instills hope and confidence in the believers — knowing that their Protector is invincible — and it strikes fear into the hearts of the disbelievers and oppressors, reminding them that their actions will not go unpunished.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, reflect on the beauty of this verse. If Allah is with you, who can be against you? The entire universe, with all its forces, cannot harm you if your Lord protects you. This is the ultimate security — not in wealth, not in status, not in human alliances, but in the guidance and protection of the Creator of all things.
So turn to your Lord with a sincere heart. Seek His guidance through His Book and the teachings of His Prophet ﷺ. And know with certainty that the One who guides you is the Mighty One who takes vengeance upon those who oppose His truth. Let this verse fill you with tranquility and courage, and let it be a reminder that the final victory belongs to the believers.
