Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(As-Sur): The Trumpet/Horn that will be blown by the Angel Israfil, signaling the end of this world and the beginning of the Hereafter.
(Nafkhatun Wahidah): A single, powerful blast — the first blow that will cause the destruction of the entire universe.

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah Almighty draws our attention to one of the most awe-inspiring moments in the history of existence — the moment when the Trumpet is blown with a single, earth-shattering blast. This is the first blow, the one that will bring about the end of this worldly life as we know it. At that instant, the heavens and the earth will be thrown into chaos: the mountains will be crushed to dust, the earth will be flattened, and the sky will split apart, becoming weak and fragile, unable to hold itself together. The angels will surround the heavens from all sides, and the Throne of the Most Merciful will be carried by eight mighty angels on that tremendous Day.

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that this world — with all its beauty, wealth, and power — is temporary and will inevitably come to an end. No matter how strong or established a person may feel in this life, everything will be overturned in the blink of an eye when the command of Allah comes. The One who created the universe with perfect order is fully capable of dismantling it in an instant, and He will do so to establish justice and accountability for all of His creation.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, this single blast is not a distant, abstract event — it is a certainty that draws closer with every passing moment. The Qur'an presents this reality not to frighten us into despair, but to awaken our hearts and guide us toward what truly matters. If we know that this world will end with one blow, why then do we invest all our energy in it while neglecting our eternal home? Why do we chase after fleeting pleasures while forgetting the meeting with our Lord?

Let this verse be a turning point in your life. Let it remind you to prepare for that Day — the Day when no wealth, no status, and no excuses will avail anyone except those who come to Allah with a pure heart, having believed in Him, worshipped Him, and done good deeds. The door of repentance is open right now, and the mercy of Allah is vast. Do not wait until the Trumpet is blown, for then it will be too late. Return to your Lord today, and you will find Him forgiving, loving, and ready to welcome you with open arms.

📜 Verse 11-15 — Al-Haqqah

Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -
Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,
