قَالَ فِيهَا تَحۡيَوۡنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنۡهَا تُخۡرَجُونَ ۝٢٥

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

تَحْيَوْنَ — You will live (spending your life in a state of being alive).
تَمُوتُونَ — You will die (the end of your earthly life).
تُخْرَجُونَ — You will be brought forth (taken out from the earth for resurrection).

Tafsir (Explanation):

After Adam and Hawwa (Eve) were sent down from Paradise to the earth, Allah addressed them and their descendants with this decisive statement: "In it you will live, and in it you will die, and from it you will be brought forth." This is a comprehensive declaration of the human journey on earth. The earth is not merely a temporary stop; it is the arena of life where you will spend your days, striving, learning, and being tested. It is also the place where your life will come to an end, as death is an inevitable reality that no soul can escape. And from this very earth, you will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment, when Allah will command the earth to yield its dead, and you will rise from your graves to face the ultimate reckoning.

This verse carries a profound message of hope and accountability. It reminds you that life on earth is purposeful and finite, but it is not the end. Death is a transition, not a termination. The same earth that receives your body will, by Allah's power, return it on the Day of Resurrection. So do not live as if this world is your final home, nor despair as if death is the end of everything. Rather, live with the awareness that your deeds here will shape your eternal outcome. Every moment you breathe is an opportunity to draw closer to your Lord, to seek His pleasure, and to prepare for the day when you will stand before Him. Let this verse awaken in your heart a love for the Hereafter and a determination to make your earthly life a means of attaining Allah's mercy and eternal bliss in Paradise.

📜 Verse 23-27 — Al-A'raf

23قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمۡنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمۡ تَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَتَرۡحَمۡنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ

They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

24قَالَ ٱهۡبِطُواْ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوٌّۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُسۡتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

[Allah] said, "Descend, being to one another enemies. And for you on the earth is a place of settlement and enjoyment for a time."

25قَالَ فِيهَا تَحۡيَوۡنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنۡهَا تُخۡرَجُونَ

He said, "Therein you will live, and therein you will die, and from it you will be brought forth."

26يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ قَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمۡ لِبَاسًا يُوَٰرِي سَوۡءَٰتِكُمۡ وَرِيشًاۖ وَلِبَاسُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٌۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.

27يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ لَا يَفۡتِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ كَمَآ أَخۡرَجَ أَبَوَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ يَنزِعُ عَنۡهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَآۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَرَىٰكُمۡ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُۥ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا تَرَوۡنَهُمۡۗ إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.
