Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Jazā'an (جَزَاءً): Reward or recompense for deeds done.
  • Sa'yukum (سَعْيُكُم): Your striving, effort, or deeds in the worldly life.
  • Mashkūran (مَّشْكُورًا): Appreciated, accepted, and acknowledged with gratitude by Allah.

Explanation of the Verse:

On that glorious Day, when the righteous are admitted into Paradise and behold its everlasting bliss, they will be addressed with words of honor and grace: "Indeed, this is a reward for you." This means that all the gardens, rivers, palaces, and delights they now enjoy are not a gift without cause—they are the fruit of their own sincere deeds in the worldly life. Their faith, patience, charity, prayer, and perseverance through trials were not lost; rather, Allah preserved every moment of it and repaid them with a reward beyond their imagination.

Then comes the most beautiful part of the address: "And your striving has been appreciated." This is a divine acknowledgment that their efforts were not only accepted but cherished by Allah. He did not merely count their good deeds—He thanked them for them. Imagine the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Most Rich and Self-Sufficient, expressing gratitude to His servants for their obedience! This is the ultimate honor: that the One who needs nothing acknowledges the sincere efforts of those who gave everything for His sake.

A Call to the Heart:

Dear believer, let this verse fill your heart with hope and determination. Every prayer you offer, every tear you shed in humility, every act of kindness you show, every temptation you resist—none of it is ever wasted. Allah sees it all, and He will not only reward you but will thank you for it. So strive in this life with sincerity, for the One who appreciates your smallest efforts is the Most Generous of all givers. Let your goal be His pleasure, and know that your labor will never be in vain. Paradise is not merely a prize—it is a heartfelt "thank you" from your Lord for every step you took toward Him.

📜 Verse 20-24 — Al-Insan

And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion.
Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.
[And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated."
Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Qur'an progressively.
So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].
