Explanation of the Verse:
When the sorcerers of Pharaoh cast down their ropes and staffs, they appeared to the people as mighty serpents moving swiftly — a dazzling display of illusion that struck fear into the hearts of the onlookers. At that critical moment, Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) stood firm, unshaken by the spectacle, and declared with certainty and clarity: "What you have brought is nothing but sorcery." He did not waver, nor did he panic, because his heart was anchored in the truth of Allah.
Musa then proclaimed the divine promise: "Indeed, Allah will nullify it." He knew that no matter how powerful or convincing the magic appeared, it was merely a temporary deception — a trick that could not withstand the power of the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Allah, in His infinite wisdom and might, would expose its falsehood and wipe it away completely, leaving no trace behind.
Then Musa added a profound truth: "Indeed, Allah does not set right the work of the corrupters." This is a universal law from Allah: those who spread corruption and mischief in the land — whether through sorcery, oppression, or any form of wrongdoing — will never find lasting success. Their efforts may seem impressive for a moment, but they are built on sand, destined to collapse. Allah does not bless or establish the deeds of those who work against His order and seek to harm His creation.
This verse carries a powerful lesson for every believer: when faced with falsehood that appears strong and intimidating, we must remember that Allah is the ultimate protector of truth. He will always support His righteous servants and expose the futility of corruption. The believer's strength lies not in the abundance of resources or the cleverness of tricks, but in sincere reliance upon Allah, who never abandons those who trust in Him.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, look at the confidence of Musa — a single man standing before the might of Pharaoh and his magicians, yet speaking with the certainty of one who knows that Allah is with him. This is the essence of faith: to know that no matter how overwhelming falsehood may seem, the light of truth will always prevail. Allah's promise is true, and His support for the righteous is guaranteed. So hold fast to your faith, trust in Allah's plan, and never fear the illusions of this world — for they are destined to fade, while the truth of Allah endures forever.
