Surah Al-Hijr — Verse 64

In this noble verse, the angels who were sent by Allah to Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) reassure him after he expressed fear and distress upon seeing them as handsome strangers in his town, fearing for their safety from his wicked people. They said to him: "Do not fear, for we have not come to you with anything but the truth — the certain truth from Allah, the Almighty — and we are indeed truthful in everything we tell you." They were informing him of the inevitable punishment that would befall his people, the very punishment they had long denied and mocked.
