Explanation of the Verse:
Allah, the Exalted, declares that He alone possesses the absolute right and wisdom to choose messengers from two distinct realms of His creation: from the angels and from human beings. From the angels, He selects those who carry His revelation to His prophets — such as the Angel Gabriel (Jibril), who delivered the divine message to the prophets, along with other honored angels entrusted with specific tasks. From humanity, He chooses prophets and messengers — such as Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all) — to guide people, teach them the truth, and call them to the worship of Allah alone.
This selection is not random or based on worldly status; rather, it is a divine prerogative rooted in Allah’s perfect knowledge and wisdom. He knows who is best suited for this immense responsibility, and He chooses whom He wills from His creation. The verse then concludes with a profound reassurance: "Indeed, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing." He hears the words of the disbelievers who mock or reject His messengers, and He sees the hearts and deeds of all people. Nothing escapes His knowledge — neither the intentions of the chosen messengers nor the reactions of those who oppose them.
This verse also reminds us that all affairs ultimately return to Allah alone. He knew what would happen to His messengers and their nations before they were created, and He knows what will occur after their passing. His choice is always just, wise, and merciful.
A Da‘wah Reflection for the Reader:
Dear reader, reflect on the greatness of this divine selection. Allah, in His infinite wisdom, did not leave humanity without guidance — He sent messengers from among the angels to deliver revelation, and from among humans to live among us, speak our language, and model the path of righteousness. This is a sign of His immense love and care for His creation. When you realize that Allah chose the best of His creation to guide you, how can you not respond with gratitude and obedience?
Moreover, know that Allah hears your every word and sees your every action. If you call upon Him, He hears you. If you strive to follow His messengers, He sees your effort and will reward you. Let this verse fill your heart with hope and determination — for the One who chose the prophets is the same One who watches over you, ready to guide you if you turn to Him sincerely. Embrace His message, follow His chosen messengers, and you will find peace in this life and the next.
