Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • لَا تَجْأَرُوا (lā taj'arū): Do not cry out, scream, or plead for help in distress. It refers to the loud, desperate wailing of someone seeking rescue.
  • مِنَّا (minnā): From Us — meaning from Allah's side or from His decree and power.
  • لَا تُنصَرُونَ (lā tunṣarūn): You will not be aided, protected, or saved by anyone.

Explanation of the Verse:

On that dreadful Day, when the disbelievers are seized by the torment of Allah, they will cry out in panic and desperation, begging for relief. But the response comes to them, crushing every hope: "Do not cry out today! You will not be helped." This is a declaration that severs every thread of expectation — no one can come to their rescue, no intercessor will be heard, no power on earth or in heaven will shield them from the punishment they have earned. Their screams and pleas are futile, for Allah's justice has already been decreed, and His command cannot be overturned. The doors of mercy are closed for them at that moment, and they are left alone with the bitter consequences of their rejection and arrogance.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

This verse is a profound reminder of the reality of accountability. Today, in this worldly life, Allah in His infinite mercy opens the door of repentance wide — He hears the cries of His servants, answers their prayers, and forgives their sins. But that door will not remain open forever. The same tongues that today can utter *"O Allah, forgive me"* and *"O Allah, have mercy on me"* will on that Day cry out in vain if they wasted this precious opportunity. So seize this moment, dear reader — turn to your Lord before the Day arrives when no cry is answered and no help is given. Let your voice be raised now in sincere supplication, not later in hopeless regret. Allah's mercy is vast, and His door is open — but only for those who knock while there is still time.

📜 Verse 63-67 — Al-Mu'minun

But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing,
Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help.
Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped.
My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels
In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil.
