Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Burrizat (بُرِّزَتْ): Made manifest, displayed openly, or brought forth into full view.
  • Al-Jaheem (الْجَحِيمُ): The blazing Fire of Hell, one of its names indicating intense heat and burning.
  • Lil-Ghaween (لِلْغَاوِينَ): Those who have gone astray, deviated from the path of truth, and persisted in misguidance.

Explanation of the Verse:

On the Day of Judgment, Hellfire will be brought forth and displayed openly before the eyes of all creation. It will not remain hidden or unseen; rather, it will be made fully visible to those who strayed from the path of guidance. These are the people who knowingly turned away from the truth, rejected the messengers of Allah, and transgressed His sacred limits without remorse. They will see the blazing Fire with their own eyes, and at that moment, overwhelming regret and despair will seize them as they realize they are its destined inhabitants. The sight of Hell being unveiled will be a terrifying spectacle—smoke rising, flames raging—and the sinners will recognize with certainty that they are being driven toward it. This unveiling serves as a moment of ultimate clarity, where every excuse vanishes and the reality of their choices becomes undeniable.

A Da'wah Reflection:

This verse carries a profound lesson for every soul. Imagine standing on that Day, watching the Fire being uncovered before your very eyes—not as a distant threat, but as a tangible reality. Allah, in His infinite mercy, has given us this life as a chance to avoid that fate. He has sent messengers, revealed scriptures, and placed countless signs around us to guide us back to Him. The path of guidance is open, and the door of repentance is never locked until the final moment. Let this image of the unveiled Hellfire awaken your heart today. Do not wait until you see it with your own eyes, for then it will be too late. Turn to Allah now, seek His forgiveness, and strive to be among those who are saved from the Fire and admitted into His eternal mercy. Every prayer, every good deed, every step away from sin is a step closer to safety. Allah does not wish to punish you; He wishes to guide you, for He is the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.

Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?"
