Word Meanings:

  • كَذَٰلِكِ — "Thus" or "likewise," referring to what was just mentioned.
  • قَالَ رَبُّكِ — "Your Lord has said," i.e., the decree has been issued by Allah.
  • الْحَكِيمُ — The All-Wise, who places everything in its perfect position.
  • الْعَلِيمُ — The All-Knowing, whose knowledge encompasses all things.

Explanation of the Verse:

When the angels delivered the glad tidings to Sarah—that she would bear a son despite her old age and her husband’s advanced years—she expressed astonishment at such a possibility. In response, the angels said: "Thus has your Lord said," meaning that this matter is not a product of their own imagination or a mere guess; rather, it is a decree from Allah, the One whose word cannot be overturned and whose promise never fails. They then affirmed: "Indeed, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing." His wisdom dictates that He does whatever He wills, placing things in their most fitting contexts, and His knowledge encompasses all that benefits His servants, even if the means appear improbable to human minds. There is no wonder in His power, for nothing is impossible for Him, and His decree is absolute.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: when Allah decrees a matter, no obstacle can stand in its way, and no human reasoning can limit His power. Just as He granted Sarah a child in her old age, He is able to fulfill His promises to you—whether it be relief after hardship, provision after scarcity, or guidance after confusion. So, place your trust in the All-Wise and All-Knowing, and rest assured that His plan for you is always better than what you can imagine. Let this strengthen your faith and fill your heart with hope, for the One who spoke this word to Sarah is the same Lord who hears your prayers today. Indeed, His wisdom is perfect, and His knowledge encompasses every detail of your life—so never despair of His mercy, and never doubt His ability to bring about what seems impossible.
