Explanation of the Verse:
This verse describes the state of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) sight during his miraculous journey to the heavens (Al-Isrā’ wal-Mi‘rāj), specifically at the moment he witnessed the magnificent signs of his Lord near the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary (Sidrat al-Muntahā).
Here, Allah reassures us of the Prophet’s perfect composure and unwavering focus: his eyes did not swerve to the right or left, nor did they wander beyond what he was commanded to see. This was not a moment of confusion or awe that led to distraction; rather, it was a moment of profound clarity, where his vision remained perfectly controlled, neither falling short nor exceeding its purpose.
