Word Meanings:

  • Naba’ (نبأ): News, report, or announcement — specifically here referring to the prophecies and warnings brought by the Messengers.
  • Mustaqarr (مستقر): A fixed place or time of settlement — meaning a final destination, an appointed end, or a point where the matter becomes fully established and clear.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse carries a profound and reassuring truth: every piece of news has a settled outcome and a definite end. No report, no promise, and no warning remains suspended forever. Just as a seed planted in the earth eventually sprouts and bears fruit — or withers away — so too does every announcement from Allah, whether it be glad tidings for the believers or a warning for the disbelievers, reach its appointed moment of manifestation.

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned the disbelievers of Makkah about the consequences of their rejection, they mocked him and demanded immediate proof. This verse responds to their arrogance with calm certainty: every prophecy has its own time and place of fulfillment. Truth and falsehood cannot remain intertwined indefinitely. The day will come when the reality of every claim becomes unmistakably evident — either in this world through the signs of Allah’s justice, or on the Day of Resurrection when every soul will witness the ultimate outcome of its deeds.

The verse ends with a gentle yet firm threat: "And soon you will know." This is not merely a statement of fact but a compassionate warning. It invites the listener to reflect before it is too late — to realize that the news of the Hereafter, the news of accountability, and the news of Paradise and Hellfire are not empty tales. They are certain realities whose appointed time will surely arrive.

For the believer, this verse is a source of immense comfort. It reminds us that Allah’s promise of victory for truth, support for the righteous, and reward for the patient is guaranteed. Even when the world seems to favor falsehood, we hold firm, knowing that every divine promise has a settled destination. For the one who hesitates, it is an invitation to open the heart to truth before the news becomes reality — before the appointed time arrives and knowledge turns into regret.

So let us take heed: the Qur’an is not merely a book of stories; it is a living message whose every prophecy is unfolding and whose every promise will be fulfilled. The wise one is he who prepares for that certain meeting with his Lord, while there is still time to act.

📜 Verse 65-69 — Al-An'am

Say, "He is the [one] Able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet or to confuse you [so you become] sects and make you taste the violence of one another." Look how We diversify the signs that they might understand.
But your people have denied it while it is the truth. Say, "I am not over you a manager."
For every happening is a finality; and you are going to know.
And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.
And those who fear Allah are not held accountable for the disbelievers at all, but [only for] a reminder - that perhaps they will fear Him.
