Surah Al-Qiyamah — Verse 16

Explanation of the Verse:

This noble verse was revealed to address a beautiful and sincere habit of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the revelation of the Qur'an. When the Angel Gabriel (peace be upon him) would bring down the words of Allah, the Prophet would hasten to move his tongue and lips, repeating the words immediately — out of deep eagerness and love for the divine message, and out of a noble fear that he might forget any part of it before it was fully settled in his heart.

Allah, the Most Merciful, gently and lovingly calmed His beloved Messenger, saying: "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it." In other words: O Prophet, do not rush to recite the Qur'an while Gabriel is still delivering it. Do not be anxious — for the One who sent this revelation is fully capable of preserving it for you.

This verse carries a profound lesson in patience, trust, and reliance upon Allah. It teaches us that when Allah undertakes a matter, He perfects it completely. The preservation of the Qur'an was never left to human effort alone — it was a divine promise and a divine guarantee.
