Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Abrar (الأبرار): The righteous, the pious, those who are sincere in faith and abundant in obedience and good deeds.
- Na'im (نَعِيم): Everlasting bliss, delight, and abundant blessings — referring here to the delights of Paradise.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse is a direct and comforting declaration from Allah Almighty: "Indeed, the righteous will be in [continual] bliss." After the previous verses described the fate of the wicked who deny the Day of Recompense, Allah now turns to reassure the believers. The "righteous" are those who are truthful in their faith, who fulfill Allah's commands, and who avoid His prohibitions. Their reward is not merely a moment of joy, but an everlasting state of bliss in Paradise — a life of perfect happiness, free from all sorrow, fear, and fatigue. This bliss includes what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever imagined: gardens of delight, rivers of pure water, and the greatest reward of all — gazing upon the Face of their Lord, the Most Merciful. The verse emphasizes certainty with the particle "inna" (indeed) and the emphatic "la" (surely), leaving no room for doubt that this promise is true and guaranteed.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, pause and reflect on this beautiful promise. Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Most Generous, has pledged eternal bliss to those who strive for righteousness. He does not break His promise. So let this verse fill your heart with hope and motivation. The path to this everlasting joy is open to you right now — through sincere faith, daily prayers, honesty in your dealings, kindness to others, and turning away from sin. Every good deed you do, no matter how small, is a seed planted for this eternal garden. Do not let the fleeting pleasures of this world deceive you, for they are temporary and vanish like a dream. But the bliss of the righteous is permanent and ever-renewing. Race towards it, compete in goodness, and let your heart long for that moment when you will enter Paradise and hear the greeting of your Lord: "Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home!" (Ar-Ra'd 13:24). May Allah make us among the righteous and grant us His eternal bliss.
