Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-'Izzah (العزة): Honor, power, might, and invincibility — the absolute ability to prevail and grant victory to whom He wills.
- As-Samee' (السميع): The All-Hearing — He hears every word, whether spoken aloud or whispered in secret.
- Al-'Aleem (العليم): The All-Knowing — He knows every deed, intention, and hidden thought.
Tafsir (Explanation):
O Prophet, let not the words of the disbelievers grieve you — their mockery, their rejection of your message, their false accusations against Allah, and their association of partners with Him. Do not let their slander weigh on your heart, for their words are powerless against the truth you carry.
Indeed, all honor, power, and might belong to Allah alone — completely and entirely, in this world and the Hereafter. He is the One who grants honor to whom He wills and humiliates whom He wills. No force on earth can stand against His decree, and no scheme of the disbelievers can frustrate His plan. He will surely grant you victory over them and make His word supreme, just as He has promised.
He is As-Samee' — He hears all their utterances, every insult and every lie they speak against you and your Lord. And He is Al-'Aleem — He knows all their actions, their plots, and the intentions hidden within their hearts. Nothing escapes His knowledge, and He will recompense them fully for all they have done — nothing will be lost or forgotten.
So take comfort, O believer, in this profound truth: the battle is not yours alone — it is Allah's. The outcome is already sealed in His wisdom and justice. When you feel hurt by the words of those who oppose the truth, remember that their words are but noise in a universe that belongs entirely to Allah. He hears them, He knows them, and He will deal with them in His perfect time.
This verse is a source of immense consolation for every believer who faces ridicule or rejection for their faith. It teaches us that our worth is not determined by the opinions of people, but by our connection to the One whose honor never diminishes. So hold firm, keep your heart anchored in Allah, and trust that His promise is true — for He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, and His victory is near.
