O Messenger, say to those who deny this Qur’an and claim they could produce something like it: Even if all of mankind and all of the jinn were to gather together, unite their efforts, and pool every resource, every mind, and every talent they possess — with the sole purpose of producing a book comparable to this Qur’an in its eloquence, its profound meaning, its perfect structure, and its unmatched beauty — they would utterly fail. They could never bring forth its like, no matter how much they supported and reinforced one another, no matter how long they tried, and no matter what strategies they devised.

It was revealed in an era when the Arabs were at the peak of linguistic mastery and poetic excellence, yet they stood helpless before its miraculous words.
