Surah Maryam — Verse 94

Explanation of the Verse:

In this verse, Allah Almighty declares that He has complete and perfect knowledge of all His creation. He has counted every single being—every human, every jinn, every angel, and every creature that exists or has ever existed. Nothing escapes His awareness, not even the smallest detail. He knows the exact number of every soul that has lived, is living, or will live until the end of time. This counting is not like the counting of a limited being who may forget or make errors; rather, it is an absolute, all-encompassing knowledge that leaves nothing hidden.

This verse comes as a powerful reassurance and a profound reminder. It tells us that our Lord, Who created us, is fully aware of every one of us. We are not lost in a vast universe, forgotten or overlooked. Every single person matters to Allah, and He knows us by name, by our deeds, and by the contents of our hearts. This is a source of great comfort for the believer: no matter how alone or insignificant we may feel, Allah sees us, knows us, and counts us among His creation with perfect precision.

At the same time, this verse carries a gentle but firm warning. Since Allah has counted every soul and knows every action, nothing we do—whether good or bad—is ever hidden from Him. On the Day of Judgment, His accounting will be perfect and just, for He has already recorded everything with exactness. This should inspire us to live with awareness and sincerity, knowing that our Lord is always watchful and that our deeds are being preserved for the day when we will meet Him.
