Surah Al-Baqarah — Verse 117

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, the Exalted, is the Sole Originator of the heavens and the earth — He created them from nothing, without any preceding blueprint, pattern, or example. No one shared with Him in this creation, and no one aided Him. He alone brought into being the vast universe, the celestial bodies, and the earth with all its wonders, purely by His infinite power and will.

When Allah decrees a matter and intends for it to occur, He merely says to it: "Be" — and it comes into existence immediately, without delay, without effort, and without any cause or means. There is no force that can resist His command, no obstacle that can hinder His will, and no power that can reverse His decree. Whatever He wills happens in the blink of an eye, for His word is absolute and His authority is supreme.

This verse instills in the believer a profound sense of awe and reliance upon Allah. Reflect, dear reader, on the majesty of this truth: the same Allah who created the heavens and the earth with a single command is the One who manages your affairs, answers your prayers, and controls your destiny. If He can bring the entire universe into existence from nothing, then no problem you face is too great for Him to solve, and no hardship is too difficult for Him to remove.

So, turn to Him with a humble heart and a trusting soul. When you witness the order and beauty of creation, let it strengthen your faith and remind you that nothing is impossible for your Lord. Call upon Him with certainty, for His response to your sincere supplication is as sure as His command "Be" — and it is.
