Surah An-Nisa — Verse 87

Word Meanings:

• لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ (layajmaʿannakum): He will surely gather you together.
• لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ (lā rayba fīh): There is no doubt whatsoever concerning it.
• حَدِيثًا (ḥadīthan): Speech, statement, or word.

Explanation of the Verse:

Allah — the One and Only — declares His absolute, exclusive divinity: there is no deity worthy of worship except Him alone. He is the sole Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign of all that exists. No partner, no rival, and no equal shares in His Lordship or His right to be worshipped.

Then comes a solemn oath, affirmed by Allah Himself: He will most certainly gather all of humanity — the first and the last, the early generations and the final ones — on the Day of Resurrection. That is the Day when people will rise from their graves and stand before their Lord for the ultimate reckoning and recompense. Every deed, whether great or small, hidden or public, will be brought forth, and every soul will be rewarded or punished with absolute justice.

This Day is an undeniable reality. There is no room for doubt, skepticism, or denial regarding its coming. Just as Allah created you in the beginning, He will recreate you and bring you back to life. The very One who originated creation from nothing is fully capable of restoring it.

And who is more truthful in speech than Allah? His words are the ultimate truth — free from falsehood, exaggeration, or error. Whatever He has promised will certainly come to pass, for His promise is true, His word is decisive, and His justice is perfect.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, let this verse awaken your heart. The One who created you, who sustains you every moment, and who knows your innermost thoughts has given you His solemn promise: you will stand before Him one day. This is not a distant myth or a mere story — it is the absolute truth from the Most Truthful.

So ask yourself: How am I preparing for that meeting? Am I living as though that Day is certain? The Qur'an invites you to a life of purpose, accountability, and hope. It calls you to worship the One true God, to do good, and to seek His mercy. The door of repentance is open, and His forgiveness is vast. Do not let this life's distractions deceive you — for the Hereafter is the true life, and it is nearer than you think.

Return to your Lord today, with a sincere heart, and you will find Him ever-forgiving, ever-merciful. And on that Day, you will be among those who rejoice in His promise fulfilled.
