Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- عِبَادَكَ (Your servants): The sincere, devoted servants of Allah who obey Him willingly.
- الْمُخْلَصِينَ (Al-Mukhlaseen): Those whom Allah has purified and chosen exclusively for His worship, protecting them from the whispers and traps of Satan. The word indicates that their sincerity is a gift from Allah, not merely their own achievement.
Tafsir (Explanation):
In this verse, Iblees (Satan) continues his defiant address to Allah after being granted respite until the Day of Judgment. He declares that he will mislead all of Adam's descendants from the path of guidance — except for a specific group: the servants of Allah who are *Al-Mukhlaseen*.
This exception is remarkable because it comes from the enemy himself. Satan, with all his cunning and ancient experience, openly admits his inability to touch those whom Allah has purified and chosen. He knows that his plots and whisperings will not harm them, because their hearts are firmly anchored in the oneness of Allah, and their devotion is sincere and unshakable.
The term *Al-Mukhlaseen* refers to those whom Allah Himself has singled out by His grace — guiding them, purifying their intentions, and protecting them from the traps of misguidance. They are not merely people who try hard to be good; they are people whom Allah has chosen, and their sincerity is a divine gift that shields them from Satan's influence.
This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: true protection from Satan does not come from our own strength or intelligence, but from Allah's mercy and selection. When a servant sincerely turns to Allah, humbles himself, and seeks refuge in Him, Allah grants him a special status — a spiritual armor that Satan himself acknowledges he cannot penetrate.
A Da'wah Reflection:
How beautiful is this verse for every Muslim who fears falling into sin or feels overwhelmed by the whispers of Shaytan! It tells you that Satan — the one who swore to mislead you — has already admitted his defeat before those whom Allah loves. He knows his limits. He cannot touch the sincere ones.
So, dear reader, do not despair. Do not think that your sins are too many or your weakness too great. The door is open for you to become one of *Al-Mukhlaseen*. Turn to Allah with a broken heart, ask Him to purify your intention, to make your worship sincere, and to protect you from the accursed enemy. Allah is generous, and He loves to give. He will not let you down when you sincerely call upon Him.
And remember: the greatest weapon against Satan is not arguing with him, but fleeing to Allah. The more you know Allah, the more you love Him, and the more you worship Him with sincerity, the further Satan retreats from you. He has already confessed his weakness before the sincere ones — so let that be your hope and your motivation to strive for sincerity in every word you say and every deed you do.
