Word Meanings:
- فَادَّارَأْتُمْ – You disputed, argued, and each of you tried to push the blame away from himself and onto others.

Explanation of the Verse:
And remember, O Children of Israel, when you killed a person and then fell into a heated dispute over it — each one of you denying responsibility and casting suspicion on another, until the matter became a public quarrel. Yet Allah, in His perfect knowledge and justice, was about to expose what you were secretly hiding: the truth of who the real killer was, and the details you had tried to bury.
This verse opens a window onto a moment in the history of the Children of Israel, where a murder had taken place and the community was entangled in accusations and counter-accusations. They had concealed the identity of the true killer, but no secret remains hidden from Allah. He knows what is in the hearts and what is whispered in the dark, and He alone has the power to bring the truth to light — no matter how deeply it is buried.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, ponder this scene: a people who thought they could hide their crime behind a veil of arguments and false accusations. But Allah — the All-Knowing — was already preparing the means to expose them. This is a timeless lesson: you may deceive people, but you can never deceive your Creator. The One who created you, who hears your words and sees your deeds, is fully aware of every secret you carry.
This verse invites you to live with integrity and honesty, knowing that Allah’s justice is absolute. If you have erred, the door of repentance is open — but never think that concealment will save you. The truth, in the end, always surfaces, either in this world or the Hereafter.
And what a beautiful reassurance this is for the believer: Allah is the One who brings out what is hidden. So if you are ever wronged, or if you fear that falsehood may prevail, take comfort — the Lord of the heavens and the earth is the Guardian of truth, and He will never leave it buried forever. Trust Him, and let your heart find peace in His perfect justice.
