Tafsir (Explanation):
In this powerful verse, Allah describes the climactic moment of the confrontation between Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) and the magicians of Pharaoh. When Musa cast down his staff, it transformed into a living serpent that devoured all the ropes and staffs the magicians had thrown—those mere illusions that had dazzled the eyes of the onlookers. At that instant, the truth struck like lightning: Musa’s miracle was no trickery, but a divine sign from the Lord of the worlds. The truth prevailed, and the falsehood of the magicians collapsed into nothingness.
This verse carries a timeless lesson for every believer: truth, no matter how long it is suppressed, will always rise. Falsehood, no matter how elaborate, is inherently fragile and doomed to vanish. The magicians themselves recognized this instantly—they fell into prostration, declaring their faith in the Lord of Musa and Harun. Their own craft had taught them that what Musa brought was beyond human capability; it was the power of the Creator over His creation.
Dear reader, reflect on this scene: the entire court of Pharaoh was filled with deception and spectacle, yet a single word of divine will erased it all. Such is the fate of every falsehood that opposes Allah’s guidance—whether in the past or in our own times. When you stand for truth, even alone, know that Allah’s support is with you. The victory of truth is not a matter of *if*, but of *when*. And when it comes, it comes with a clarity that silences every doubt and humbles every arrogant heart.
So hold firm to the truth of Islam, for it is the very truth that Musa carried, that Muhammad (peace be upon him) sealed, and that every believer is honored to uphold. Let this verse be a source of certainty in your heart: no matter how powerful falsehood may appear, it is but a bubble on the surface of the ocean—here one moment, gone the next. But the truth of Allah remains, eternal and unshakable, until the Day of Judgment.
